The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is located on the Arabic Gulf and on the coastal line of the emirate that extends about 64 kilometers while the inland areas exceed 128 kilometers to the east. Ras Al khaimah lies between the two latitudes 25-26 North and the two longitudes 55-60 East. It is the farther part of the east that is bordered by Sultanate of Oman from the south and the eastern north. Ras Al Khaimah occupies the fourth place in terms of area and population of the UAE. Its area takes about 2478 Kilometers which is equal to 3.16% of the total area of the UAE. It shares the borders with the emirates of Um Al Quawain, Fujairah and Al Sharjah in addition to the borders with Sultanate of Oman.
It lies to the farther north of the UAE and extendes along the Arabian Gulf shore adjacent to the strategic strait of Hermiz. Thus, it is the first emirate that overlooks the entrance of the Arabian Gulf which enables it to have a distinguished natural and geographical location. Relatively, its maritime coast is long which allows it to be a center for maritime and commercial business across the continents since a long time. Furthermore, there are mountain ranges, large desert areas and green agricultural areas.
